Bid process to delay HAFB development
A 40- to 50-year project that will eventually become a 600-acre business and technology park on the west side of Hill Air Force Base won't begin for several more months.
Hill made the announcement Friday after its West Side Development team agreed to use a competitive process to develop the business park.
Previously, the development team had planned a "sole-source" project, meaning the team would pick one developer for the project. Now, the project will be put out to bid, a process that will take several months, according to a news release from the base.
The land is along Hill's west side, which is near Interstate 15, and the development is expected to bring commercial businesses, as well as a space and missile complex and office space to Davis County.
