Transportation panel unanimously approves new license plate
Utah could soon be getting a new license plate that features snow-capped mountains, the red rocks of Southern Utah, and the slogan "Life Elevated."
On Tuesday, the Senate Transportation Committee unanimously approved SB73, which would require the state Division of Motor Vehicles to begin issuing the new "Life Elevated" plate. It would replace the state's old "Ski Utah" plate.
Scott Christensen, who served on a committee to redesign Utah's license plate, told committee members that the new plate really showcases the state's diverse landscape.
"We are a wonderful state with so much to offer in landscape," he said.
Deseret Morning News graphic artist John Clark designed the new plate.
SB73 now moves to the full Senate for debate.
