The 10th annual Spring Cycle Tour will start from West Yellowstone, Mont., on May 12.

The 64-mile route, called "The Block," travels through two states, over two mountain passes and winds around three lakes. A portion of proceeds from the race will benefit the Yellowstone Park Foundation.

"It would be difficult to find a more beautiful bike tour than our route through Montana and Idaho in early spring," said Jamie Greene, tour coordinator.

Funds raised from the tour will help Yellowstone ESCAPE, a project that provides day-use educational programs in Yellowstone National Park for school groups from communities like West Yellowstone.

The cycle route is patrolled by vans to give fatigued cyclists a ride when needed and to provide mechanics to help with repairs. Following the tour, participants will be invited to a dinner at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort. To register for the Spring Cycle Tour, visit www.cycleyellowstone.com.

The Spring Cycle Tour is just one of many activities during West Yellowstone's "Beauty, Bikes and Babes" season. The beauty of Yellowstone begins to come alive after the long winter. This is also the peak season to view newborn young, first bison, followed closely by elk, deer and a host of others.
