6 UVSC students qualify for rodeo
OREM Six Utah Valley State College students have qualified to compete against 300 colleges and universities at a rodeo June 10-18 in Casper, Wyo.
The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association ranked UVSC's rodeo team first in the nation after the team took first place in the Rocky Mountain Region competition in March, said Lewis Feild, the team's coach.
One member of UVSC's women's rodeo team and five members of the men's team qualified: Lana Bingham, Heber City, goat tying; Bud Munns, Garland, bareback riding and bull riding; Taylor White, American Fork, saddle bronc riding and bull riding; Riley Probst, Heber City, team roping and calf roping; Nick Rydalch, Erda, saddle bronc riding; and Slade Hughes, Veyo, saddle bronc riding.
