PROVO — The Utah Regional Ballet, under the direction of Jacqueline P. Colledge, will be presenting the timeless classic fairy tale "Cinderella" as the debut performance of the Provo Center for the Arts.

For the first time, in conjunction with the matinee on July 26, the ballet company will host the "Happily Ever After" Cinderella fund-raiser luncheon at the Provo Center for the Arts. A catered "princess" lunch will be provided along with an opportunity to have a photo taken with Cinderella onstage before the performance.

The Provo Center for the Arts is a brand new 750-seat state-of-the-art facility and the new performing home for the Utah Regional Ballet.

"We are thrilled to be the first full length production at Provo Center for the Arts and are thrilled to be able to perform the 'Legend of Timpanogos,' 'Nutcracker' and others in this beautiful facility," said the company's artistic director, Jackie College.

Cinderella was first performed by URB in 1986 and quickly became an audience favorite.

This full-length ballet features URB's own principal artists: Rachelle Jardine, a four-year member of URB in her first-ever principal role as Cinderella; veteran dancer and principal guest artist, Christopher Young, as the Prince; Joni Tuttle and Lindsay Duerfeldt dance the part of the fairy godmother; Natalie Kirkham is the wicked stepmother; Brad McOmder and Jeffrey Rogers take on the roles of the stepsisters.

Cinderella will also feature URB II students as the corps de ballet directed by Heather Gray and students of Jacqueline's School of Ballet, under the direction of Brittnee Squires. URB's rendition of Cinderella is unique in that special roles were created in order to use every student in the school including young dancers as raccoons and mice.

"It should make it really fun for the whole family," said public relations spokeswoman Lisa Taylor.
