Sales-tax boom and bust in Utah cities

Most of Utah experienced a boom in sales-tax revenues, with an average increase of 13 percent. Here are the 10 cities and towns that saw the biggest increases and the five that dropped the most:

Biggest increases

• Cedar Fort — 69.5 percent
• Vineyard — 64.9 percent
• Draper South* — 53.5 percent
• Saratoga Springs — 49.3 percent
• Fairfield — 49.2 percent
• Milford — 49.0 percent
• Eagle Mountain — 46.1 percent
• Cedar Hills — 46.0 percent
• Salem — 45.0 percent
• South Jordan — 40.0 percent
(* Only includes the portion of the city that is in Utah County)

Biggest decreases

• Naples — 18.3 percent
• Alta — 10.7 percent
• Bicknell — 11.0 percent
• South Salt Lake — 9.1 percent
• Park City — 8.1 percent
