The Deseret Morning News learned Thursday that Real Salt Lake acquired Dema Kovalenko from the New York Red Bulls in exchange for an undisclosed 2010 SuperDraft pick. Kovalenko is a hard-nosed midfielder who figures to be a regular fixture in Real Salt Lake's starting 11 for the 2008 season. In his nine-year MLS career he's played for Chicago, D.C.
