Arch Coal Foundation honors 5 teachers

PRICE — The second annual Arch Coal Teacher Achievement Awards have been presented to five outstanding classroom teachers.

Recipients are Connie M. Hamilton, Castle Heights Elementary, Price; Diane Hill, Gunnison Valley Middle School, Gunnison; Gail Jewell, Wellington Elementary, Wellington; Renae Seegmiller, North Sevier High, Salina; and J. Edward Staker, North Sanpete High, Mt. Pleasant.

The awards were announced during a ceremony at Castle Heights Elementary School. This is the second year the Arch Coal Foundation has sponsored the teacher recognition program in the four Utah counties of Carbon, Emery, Sanpete and Sevier.

Recipients receive a $2,500 unrestricted cash prize.

"These are five of the very best teachers in this region," said Paul Lang, Arch Coal Inc. senior vice president of operations, calling them "perfect examples of the dedicated educators who change lives every day in their classrooms."
