TREY PING, Pine View: Without the play of this senior guard, it's hard to imagine that the Panthers would've captured the 3A state championship last week.

Ping finished with 36 total points in four playoff games, but he was at his best in the semifinal and championship. He finished with 11 points in a 53-43 semifinal win over Judge, but perhaps more importantly, he harassed Judge point guard Jaxon Myaer into one of the worst shooting performances of the season.

In a 45-38 championship victory over Dixie, Ping stepped it up offensively, racking up 15 points and carrying the Panthers to their first state title since 2001.

JADEN PARSONS, South Sevier: Though just a sophomore, this point guard led her team to both a region title and a state championship with her hard work and positive attitude.

"She has worked very hard over the years to become a very skilled basketball player," said head coach Randy Madsen. "Jadie is a great leader and hard worker."

This season, she averaged 12.21 points, 4.1 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game and led the Rams to a 22-2 record. She works just as hard off the court, maintaining a 3.99 GPA in school.

"She is just a great young lady," said Madsen. "Our offense began with her."
