Screaming Yummies

Ingredients

3 cans whole water chestnuts
2 pounds lean bacon
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar

Cut bacon strips into thirds. Wrap each chestnut with a slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick through the flat side of the chestnut. Place on broiler pan and broil until bacon is browned. Remove from broiler pan, place in a 13-by-9-inch pan that has been lightly greased. Combine ketchup and brown sugar. Pour over bacon-wrapped water chestnuts (try not to cover toothpicks). Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until bubbly. Recipe may be doubled for large groups. Warning: Let cool slightly before eating!!


Directions

Variation: A little soy sauce can be added to the sauce mixture for a different flavor.
