Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients

1 cup soy sauce
6 tablespoons mirin (sweet Japanese rice cooking wine) or medium-dry sherry
1/2 cup cider vinegar
6 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons chopped peeled fresh gingerroot


Directions

In a small saucepan simmer sauce ingredients, stirring until sugar is dissolved, until reduced to about 1 1/2 cups.
