Jambalaya Mix

Ingredients
1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
1 tablespoon instant minced onion
1 tablespoon green pepper flakes
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 bay leaf
Combine all ingredients; store in an airtight container. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
Directions
Directions to put on jar: To make Jambalaya Soup, combine mix, 3 cups water and 8-ounce can tomato sauce; bring to a boil. Stir in 1 cup cooked chicken and 1 cup chopped cooked ham or smoked sausage. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20-25 minutes or until rice is tender. Discard bay leaf. Makes 8 cups soup.
