Apples & Yams

Ingredients

Yield: 8 servings

3 yams
2 apples
1 cup sugar
4 or 5 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups boiling water
2 tablespoons butter


Directions

Cook yams until tender. Cool, peel and slice. Peel and slice apples. Layer yams and apples in buttered 2-quart casserole. Combine sugars, salt and cornstarch. Add boiling water; add butter. Pour mixture over yams and apples. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for about 1 hour.

Each serving contains 379 calories, 3 g fat, 89 g carb, 314 mg sodium, 8 mg cholesterol.
