Ingredients
Yield: 10 servings
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 large tart apples, peeled and sliced 1/4-inch thick
4 eggs
1 1/3 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
9-10 slices day-old French bread
Directions
In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Cook until thick, about 3-5 minutes. Pour into an ungreased 9-by-13-inch baking pan; arrange apples on top. In separate bowl, mix eggs, milk and vanilla. Dip French bread slices into egg mixture and arrange on top of apples. Pour any remaining egg mix on top of bread.
