Easy Caramel Popcorn Balls

Ingredients
2 1/2 quarts warm popped popcorn
1 (14-ounce) package caramels, unwrapped
2 tablespoons water
1/4 cup light corn syrup
Candy corn, optional
Yield: 8 medium-size popcorn balls
Prep time: 30 minutes
Directions
Place popcorn in large bowl and keep warm. Melt caramels and water in top of a double boiler or microwave on high for about 3 minutes, stirring after each minute. Stir in corn syrup when caramels are smooth. Slowly pour over popcorn, mixing well. Cool about 5 minutes; then shape into balls (spread palms of your hands with margarine or slightly moisten hands). Insert several pieces of candy corn into each popcorn ball, if desired.
