Gone All Afternoon Stew

Ingredients
Preparation time: 15 minutes plus baking time
Yield: 6 servings
2 pounds stew beef, cubed
2 medium onions, chopped
3 medium carrots, sliced
3 potatoes, peeled and quartered
Peas or other leftover vegetables
1 can (10 1/2 oz.) tomato soup
1/2 soup can water
1 teaspoon salt
Sprinkle of pepper
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup sweet or sour pickle juice
Directions
Put all ingredients in a large casserole; cover tightly. (Don't brown the meat first.) Bake at 275 degrees for five hours.
Each serving contains 300 calories; 8 gm fat; 25 gm carbohydrate; 778 mg sodium; 66 mg cholesterol.
