Seven Wives Inn Granola
Ingredients
Preparation time: 12 minutes plus baking
Yield: 14 cups
8 cups old-fashioned oats
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups wheat germ
1 cup coconut, wide and unsweetened
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup raw cashews
1/3 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup raisins, optional
Directions
Combine the first seven dry ingredients in a large bowl; set aside. Mix water, oil, honey, peanut butter and vanilla in saucepan; heat, stirring until peanut butter is blended. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well.
Spread on two large greased cookie sheet; bake at 200 degrees for 2 hours or until coconut browns on the edges. Add raisins to cooled granola if desired.
Each serving contains 318 calories; 15 gm fat; 29 mg sodium; 0 mg cholesterol.
