Spiced Pears in Cider Sauce

Ingredients
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Yield: About 3 cups sauce
2 cups apple cider
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cloves
2 cups ripe red Bartlett, anjou or bosc pears, peeled and cut in 1/2-inch dice
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
In a 2-quart saucepan, combine all ingredients except pears and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mixture is thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in pears and lemon juice; continue cooking about 3-5 minutes. Serve warm.
Each one-half cup serving contains 95 calories; 1 gm fat; 6 mg sodium; 0 mg cholesterol.
