Rommegrot (Sour Cream Porridge)

Ingredients

2 quarts natural sour cream (or heavy cream soured overnight with 2 tablespoons lemon juice per quart)
1 quart milk
1-2 eggs
2-2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
Sugar


Directions

Pour sour cream and milk into saucepan. Beat the eggs and add to sour cream; mix in flour. Cook at low temperature until butter droplets form. Stir constantly. Add salt and sugar to taste. Traditionally served with flatbread and cured meats. Makes 12 servings.
