Li'l Chicks
Ingredients
1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed but still cold
2 raisins
1 egg, beaten
Directions
Cut loaf in half. Each half makes one chick. Using one section, cut into two equal pieces. Shape one piece into a flat egg shape. This will be the chick. The narrow end of the egg shape is the chick's head. Place on a pan which has been coated with non-stick cooking spray. Form the other piece into a half circle. This is the egg shell. Make cuts on the straight edge to resemble cracked egg shells. Lay shell over lower half of chick, overlapping slightly. Cut a tiny cone shape off the remaining egg shell dough for a beak. With scissors, cut beak open and place on face of chick. Add raisins for eyes. Press remaining dough into a rectangle shape and cut in half diagonally for wings. Cut three or four deep cuts into long edge of triangles to make feathers. Position wings on sides of chick. Brush with beaten egg and allow to rise slightly. Bake at 350 degrees 20 minutes.
