Broiled Pink Grapefruit

Ingredients

3 pink grapefruit
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg


Directions

Preheat broiler. Cut grapefruit in halves. Using a grapefruit knife, loosen fruit from skin around edges and between segments. Discard seeds. Place grapefruit, cut sides up, in a shallow-rimmed baking pan.

In a small bowl beat together butter, brown sugar, and nutmeg until smooth and well combined. Dot butter mixture evenly over the grapefruit halves.

Place beneath broiler, about 4 inches from heat. Broil until topping is melted, bubbling, and lightly browned, about 3 to 5 minutes. Serve hot. Makes 6 servings.
