Christmas Casserole

Ingredients

Butter a 9-by-13-inch casserole dish and line with 8 slices of bread. Layer on top of bread pieces of ham or cooked sausage, sliced or shredded cheese. Repeat with a second layer, ending with the cheese on top.
In a blender mix:

6 eggs
3 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard


Directions

Pour over layers in pan, cover and let stand overnight in refrigerator. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 1 hour. If you like it crunchy, uncover the last 15 minutes. Serve with warm maple syrup.
