Southwestern Marinade

Ingredients

1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup chipotle pepper sauce (such as Tabasco)
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoons dry mustard
2 cloves garlic, minced
2-pound flank steak


Directions

Combine all ingredients except steak in large glass or plastic bowl. Add steak, turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours or overnight, turning occasionally. Preheat grill or broiler to medium high. Place steak on grill; cook 12-14 minutes for medium rare, or 15 minutes for medium, turning every 5-6 minutes. Transfer steak to cutting board; let sit 5 minutes. Thinly slice across the grain. Serves 8.
