Hi, my name is Laura Deery and i am from Northern Ireland. I have watched Save the Last Dance movie about 30 times. I think it is the best movie i have ever watched. I would love it if the director would make more movies like STLD. I love the story line and the sound track is amazing, i got the sound track and DVD for my birthday. So i am either watching it or listening to it.

Save the last dance is a great film it really lets you feel how the characters would feel. The ethnic view is great there are so many morals in it and lessons which could be learnt. By the way Sean Patrik thomas is lush i dont see whats the problem im white and i think hes lush!

Well, my point of view is that, the movie contains lots of things that motivates you. When at first saw the movie, it was like the perfect moment to decide that I need to go ahead with my dreams, that reaching my dreams is only in me, it is my desicion. I think that the story was a little wear, at firs, but later there comes the very important thing.

This film was dynamic and brought me back to the years of growing up being faced with what Julia Stiles had to learn about fitting in socially and finding the correct group of people to hang with. This was a realistic story that actually is a lot like how I was raised. This is a top of the line movie.
KELLIE | Jun. 6, 2001
This is the best movie out there and everyone should go out and see it. It is all about not being racist and thats really cool. ****
ROXANNE | May. 19, 2001
I liked the movie although I must add a few comments: this film mostly foccussed on dancing and the love story was utterly unrealistic. A white girl would never ever had made any friends in a black school and Stiles' dancing was too technical. I'd like to know how she'll afford Julliard since she lives in a poor neighborhood. I still gotta give props to Nikky cuz she can act!

WELL I THINK IT WAS A GOOD MOVIE.3 WEEKS AFTER WATCHING IT MY FRIEND(PAUL) FELL IN LOVE WITH A WHITE GAL(ME AND PAUL ARE BLACK) WHO WAS INSPIRED BY THE MOVIE.THEY HAVE STARTED GOING TO HIP-HOP CLUBS TOGETHER-THIS IS A GOOD CHANGE IN OUR SOCIETY.KEEP IT REAL CARTER.TIL THE NEXT HIP-HOP/RACIAL TENSION MOVIE.
JANET LILO | Apr. 25, 2001
despite the cheezy parts, i loved it. however i thought there'd be more dancing. overall a must see.
SHUHEL | Apr. 21, 2001
This film was hot, the dancin was great, the story was great and backed up by an amzing soundtrack. If ur black an u ever dated a white girl then u can deffinately releate to most of the things. Can't wait till this comes ou on vid!

SAVE THE LAST DANCE, I think was a great movie, because i am awaiting a chance to audition for the American Ballet Academy in New York. This movie had a lot to do with the racial discrimination and a lot of what this scriptwriter came up with is true. There is a lot of discrimination and I really think it should stop.

Save the Last Dance was one of the best made-for-teen movies out in a long time. This film tells us that the movie making industry finally woke up from the Dawson's Creek era of teen speech ideas. They've realized that teenagers have a vocabulary that doesn't sound like someone went to a dictionary to change every other word. It was refreshing to be able to go to a teen targeted movie and not have bimbo blonds and completely sappy love stories that could never happen in real life. This combination of dance, romance, trials and tribulations, and inner city life says so much that no matter who goes to see it, they will relate to a least one aspect of it. This was an overall well written movie that is down to earth and believable.

i think save the last dance was a great movie and i loved it. i go to high school and everyone loved it also i feel that i showed the difficults whites have to go through as well as blacks and no matter what this guy says i will do everything i can to see that this movie gets the credit that it deserves

I am having difficulty understanding why so many people dislike this movie. Coming from a large city, I can say from personal experience that this movie is quite realistic. There are many inter-racial relationships that do work out; they don't all end depressingly. I also disagree with those who say this is a teen-age chic flick. Adults need to see this movie more than anyone, and the ones in my community who have feel it is quite well done with a good combination of dancing and life. It doesn't matter what "Sara" wanted to do; if she had wanted to become a lawyer the message would have been the same because she worked to accomplish her dream. This is a wonderful movie that everyone

Teenage girls love this movie. Teenage boys like it. That is pretty much where it ends. It protrays a girl who loses her mother, is rude to her father, gets rescued by a boyfriend, is a great dancer, has sex with boyfriend, transcends racial barriers with no concern for anyone she hurts (including friends and father). No wonder teenage girls love it! But it is completely irresponsible filmmaking for the values it portrays.
WALLY | Feb. 17, 2001
I ws quite disappointed in this movie. The dancing is fun, the plot not bad, but the values portrayed are atrocious, especially in a movie aimed at teenagers. The two stars have sex without consequences in a film that is all about consequences. The boy's sister (who is also the girl's best friend) is an unwed teenage mother, yet the two stars decide that they can do this with no worries, apparently. The movie does bring up some good points about life in poor black neighborhood and it doesn't tie up all the ends neatly at the conclusion, but my unwed teenage mother/foster child loves this movie because men rescue women in need and there and the plight of the unwed teenage mother is made to look extremely sympathetic and noble, even if not glamorous. A good story, almost well-told, but with completely irresponsible filmmaking ruining the whole thing, IMHO.
SARA | Feb. 13, 2001
I thought it was an excellent movie, very well done. I was feeling what Stiles was portraying. I'd pay to see it a second or even third time.
NIKKI | Feb. 10, 2001
I Liked the movie Save The Last Dance! I thought it ROCKED and that is why it's doing so well at the theaters!
JESSE PENALOZA | Feb. 9, 2001
I think this movie "Save the Last Dance" was a funy, romantic and sad movie. It make me think about my X-gril friend> shy was white and like I am a mexican guy none of friends want it us to gether . I like the movie hope fully the writer would make a Script part two for this movie well I am a television scripwriter and I think this was a good entertainment movie for this year 2001.
SHEILA | Feb. 6, 2001
I love the movie. I love the dance moves in the movies, and I love the story line. It was a great movie. I would see it again, buy the video, and buy the sound track.
CHRISTIE | Feb. 6, 2001
I know I have already written a review for this movie but I wanted to write in again and let everyone who thinks this is a girl flick or a teenage flick know that they are wrong.. I took my fiance to see it, and he liked it just as much as I did(we are both in our 20's)! I still think this is a wonderful movie.... read further down the list to see my full opinion on the movie.. and then if you haven't seen it GO!!!, and if you have and don't like it.. stop hating!!!!
SADIE MILLS | Feb. 3, 2001
I loved this movie! I thought it was a movie that touched on many real-life issues, and though it did not exactly resolve them, I thought it handled them in an idealistic fashion that is desirable...love triumphs over all. I could personally relate to some of the issues and that made me enjoy the movie a lot more.

Save the Last Dance. A real life look at the life of teens. Not only is it inspired but it is inspiring. Giving lessons in love and life it is unexpalinably good. I'm a teen, I could relate to this. I laughed, I cried and i experienced their feeling. It reminds me of a modern Dirty Dancing undoubtly knockig it from #1 to #2 of my all time favorites!
CHRISTIE | Jan. 30, 2001
I enjoyed this movie very much!!!! I feel that it is great to finally have a movie that shows people not to be afraid of who they are or who they love. I am a 22 year old white woman, in an interracial relationship with a black male, and I can relate to the issues that are exhibited in this movie. It's not easy when people around you don't except who you are or what you do, but you must always remember to live your life for yourself!!! I love my baby, and noone could ever make me feel differently!! Love and friendship should see no color!!!! I am going to see this movie again and I hope to see that this movie gets the recognition it deserves for the message it is sending!!! The soundtrack is also a great addition to this movie, along with the theme song "Shining Through"!!! Julia and Sean did an excellent job portraying the way life is and how to overcome it!!!!
KABOOSE | Jan. 28, 2001
i dont know what some of you ppl are talking about! i saw it and it wasnt the best movie i had ever seen but it was very good. the issues that they did deal with were handleed pretty good. when soem of you ppl are saying it was kinda fake and not down to earth and stuff, what were you expecting? one movie couldnt deal with every issue in a teens life when her mom just died, she has to live with her dad who she doesnt even know and go to an all black school. i thought they did what they could very well. adn patrick is very VERY HOT. but then again, my opionion is coming from a teenager. thanks for reading my opionion:)

SAVE THE LAST DANCE IS THE BEST! I really can not understand why people are dissing the plot, characters, and moral of the story. The movie was played out terrifically, displays it's meaning clearly, and shows the morals of the real world. All and all, I think this movie will be my favorite for a long time to come, and sincerely hope this movie wins many awards for it's creativity, great scenes, and wonderful acting by the actresses and actors. THUMBS UP!
DIANA | Jan. 27, 2001
It was nice to see such a cute movie with "a LITTLE BIT of EVERYTHING". Unfortunatelly the life is not only about dance. (I Hope you get my point).
DIAMOND | Jan. 27, 2001
The movie was very interesting. Being a teenager and a African American female, I understood and related to everything that was going on in that movie. The dancing was excellent. Also the romance was captured as two young teens brought together by their passion for dancing; what's so wrong with that? Everyone has their own opinion but I see no reason to hate on the movie. Every movie isn't for everyone but I think that this one was made for the young people who love to dance.
WHITNEY SHERI HINNANT | Jan. 27, 2001
I think the movie should have got 5 stars. That man jeff dosen't knows whats he talkin about. He don't understand what some teens go through today,But if he was in He situtation he would have done the same thing she did, or he would have been loc (means not cool),but off dat subect. Save the last Dance was the best movie I have ever seen. It made me laugh, cry, sing, and dance the whole 9.I think that movie was even better than The Titanic.
TONNETTE | Jan. 23, 2001
I think it was a good movie. I will go see it again. If I could I will give a million stars!!
JESSICA | Jan. 21, 2001
I think this is a good movie 1 to learn from that raceism isn't right and that black and white people can do things together without it being wrong. 2.It shows it doesn't matter what people think only what you think. 3.People arn't bad just because of thier race. and I think this is a great movie the best movie I have ever seen. It deserves more credit than what it is getting. Just because we live in Utah we don't like it because it has stuff that we aren't supposed to see but we see it everywhere and everyday. I think this movie is the best and the actors are great.
MIKE | Jan. 21, 2001
Great teenager flick, but I'm not a teenager. From a more reality based point of view, this movie really stinks. Life is about more then dance and breaking racial barriers but you'd never know it from this film. If you want a real movie go see Castaway, but if you a movie devoid of any real plot or any touch of reality, see this bomb of a movie.
*~BRITT~* | Jan. 20, 2001
This movie was SO amazing, it has to be my favourite movie of all time. Despite what the clueless, out-of-date and overall ridiculous reviewers say, this movie has a great storyline, soundtrack, cast, and characters. Starring Julia Stiles(10 Things I Hate About You), and ~*incredibly*~ hot Sean Patrick Thomas, this movie is GREAT for anyone who like romances, dramas, hip-hop, or just MOVIES.
KIKI | Jan. 20, 2001
I think that this movie was a perfect portrayal of teenage life as it is in the urban community where people are judged by the color of skin and not their character. I think that they portrayed this movie in a positive light without it being too overbearing. It appeal I think a younger audience because there are more references directed to that age group...however, it provided a positive image that one should not give up on thier dreams, etc. Dancing and acting was well done I think....Cute movie for a date!
KENYA CRAYTON | Jan. 20, 2001
I feel it was great. People keep saying kids or teens are grow up to fast this moive stay clean and for once the BLACK Kid didn't leave the hood because he got a basketball scholarship or football. And they the didn't stop like each other. He also didn't have any kids nor didn't make the exuse that he didn't have a father or mother to teach him.
HAILY BLANKET | Jan. 19, 2001
I like totaly LOVED it!
SUGAR | Jan. 17, 2001
I thought the movie was pretty good. I'm glad the movie focused on more than just dancing, but it used it to bond the main characters. I'd see it again. Sugar
SHANE | Jan. 17, 2001
Another dumb, MTV agenda-laden, touchy-feeley, movie that really has no point. Oh, wait...I get it...let's all dance together & life will just blossom into a happy ending. Gimme a break!
KATHERIN GARCIA | Jan. 17, 2001
I think that was one of the best movies I don't know why everyone hates it. I think it had a great plot! well that what I think
KELLY MARKUS | Jan. 16, 2001
Save the Last Dance was a great movie for people my age. I am a teenage girl and I fell in love with the movie when I saw it a couple days ago. This movie has a little bit of everything, and is the best movie I've seen in awhile
CASSIE MANUEL | Jan. 16, 2001
I thought this movie was very good! I love Julia Stiles. She is an awesome actress with a lot going for her. I want to be just like her someday. The movie has a lot of character to it. I loved the whole thing. If I could watch it again I would in a heart beat. I recommend that everyone watch it. Its good!
CANDACE BAKER | Jan. 16, 2001
I think that "Save the Last Dance" was an excellent film! Coming from a teenagers point of view, it related to me exactly!!! I felt like I was watching my friends having fun. The writers, producers, and actors all did an extraordinary job in this movie. I wish I could give it one million stars. I'm definately going to see it again. Great Job "Sara,", "Derek," and "Chaneille."
