Reader comments: Vincent & Theo

V&H was a very compelling biopic of the famous landscape artist and his brother. 5 years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting the Van-Gogh art museum in Amsterdam, Holland, where his many works are kept. Altman's drama does just as excellent a job at telling about Van-Gogh's life as well as such relatives as his brother Theo, and we also get to learn that the former did some of his work in order to impress the latter. The film, by the way, may have originally been produced as a 4-part miniseries for European television. It's one of Altman's best films, and if the ratings here included halves, then I too would give it ***1/2 stars. Bravo, Altman.
