Reader comments: A Walk in the Clouds

VI | May. 11, 2006
This is one of the most beautiful films I have seen to date. Breathtaking scenes filmed in gorgeous wine country of California. Anthony Quinn was fabulous and funny and completely believeable in this character of Grandfather of the Leading Lady. But the reason I give this movie only 2 stars is because of the extreamly poor performance given by Reeves as Paul Sutton, the leading male role. This could have been a classic film treasured for generations, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN, but Reeves performance was so lacking in warmth and feeling it was just sad. There were times when Reeves was speaking that I literally wondered if he was trying to read his lines off of cue cards. SAD, so sad that such a wonderful story could be ruined by poor writting, and poor acting. This is one I wish could be one of my favorites, but alas, it isn't.
