One of the best films of the Twentieth Century. One to buy and view again and again. Suitable for whole family. Wonderful core philosophy too (and so true re ignorant treatment of those who go against societies rules). A film that makes you feel that it's rather rather RATHER !! good to be alive. 4 stars ? Makes that FIVE.

Dear mr.Hicks, i think it's kind of narrow sighted to compare an african movie with an american just from the american point of view. The african film has completely different origins than the american film. The African film is much more oral, because of the tradition of the griot, a tale teller in africa to tell the people about their past and customs, also used to educate children. The filmmaker took the place from the griot. centered is the story, the tale and not the action like in a lot of western movies, this is why in our eyes it may seem that the action is missing, as you put it, the pacingis a little bit of. You just pulled it out of its surroundings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
