Reader comments: Halloween: H20 (20 Years Later)

KEN KARPINSKI | Oct. 18, 2003
Jeff Vice's reviews of "Halloween H20" was good, except the cross-reference to "Halloween II" needs to be changed to 1981 as its release, set on the same night as the first one.

Firstly, the beginning. What did it have to do with the rest of the movie? There wasn't enough of a link for me. Secondly, it was too short. Thirdly, unbelievable. It was classic "the baddy needs to be thrown off three storeys, get an axe in the chest, bashed with a heavy object a few times, PLUS pinned between a log and a fast moving car AND decapitated before dying". Please. I almost fell asleep sighing so much. Although, I suppose I WAS pleasantly surprised that he didn't come back after the decapitation. Another thing I thought didn't help the movie was the lack of human-ness Mike had. He was just a faceless psychopath, which, I guess could've been a scary element, but I didn't find it scarier than I did find it distancing. It was good at times, but not much better than any other horror flick I've seen.

Far to short. Not enough blood, killing, oor scary music. The only good part was when mike myers died promising no sequel although the rating and lack of enthusiasm from people who saw it can be just as important.

This movie was scary but though most of it didn't make sense.
SHAUNA | Feb. 2, 1999
This movie was exactly the same as every other 90's horror flick. That's why I liked it. It wasn't scary but for me to say that isn't much, I've never seen a movie that scared me. The movie was o.k. I liked the first maybe, 10 minutes of it. That's cuz Joseph Gordon-Levitt played Jimmy Howell, unfortunatly, his part was extremely short. Anyway, if you liked Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, or any of the sequels to those you might like this one. Also the movie was so predictable.

Up untill reading this page I thought I was the only one who hated this movie. 1st off the movie is way too short and second, why did they make mike such a wussy. He's suppossed to be all bad @$$ but he gets the crap kicked outta him by his sister. I was at least wishing for a better fight or more murders (or both) in the movie cuz otherwise it was just a waste of my time

I love scary movies and I get scared easily, but not even this one scared me! Plus it was way too short.
SAM SMITH | Sept. 11, 1998
This movie really sucked. The whole theater laughed throught the whole thing. It was so stupid and predicitable. Not even scary. I wasted my money. I could have seen something good.
JOLENE DEPETE | Sept. 2, 1998
I pretty much thought this movie was quite ridiculous! It was just a waste of a reinactment! don't run to the theater for this one folks!
