I really enjoyed watching this beautiful ACADEMY AWARD WINNER (and "Winner #1" in every sense of the word, for sure) FILM! I love ALL of Kevin Costner's movies, in fact; he's always been my #1 of ALL TIME actors, directors, etc., plus, he's real easy on the eye......I especially loved the Lakota Native Americans (Graham Greene, et al.), and Mary McDonnell. This movie was wonderfully narrated, and truly, a timeless memorial, "set the STANDARD" for ALL TIME for epic American Westerns. GO FOR IT, KEVIN!!!!! Keep comin' back, too. PASSIONATELY RECOMMEND THIS OSCAR WINNER, AND I RATE THE FILM ************************************

Kevin Costner's masterpiece! DWW's was clearly the class of the field in 90-91'. The acting, the richly drawn out characters, fascinating storylines, stunning landscapes & a powerful moving score all aid in making this a classic. Yes i wanted to become a Sioux after i saw it at the theatre, it was fascinating to see things from the indian perspective since so many western movies portray native indians as crazed boogiemen searching to kill whites at every opportunity. Deserves 5 stars but the limit is 4 so...

This was certainly a very entertaining movie, but it takes the typical Hollywood route these days-- of showing our American soldiers in the West as being heartless murderers of American Indians and anyone else who happened to step in the way of the soldiers-- like Kevin Costner. This movie is way too pro-Indian and anti-American soldier. The truth is that-- (1) Indians killed more Indians than whites ever killed, (2) Indians killed just as many whites, if not more, than the number of Indians killed by whites. There were violent acts and atrocities committed by both sides-- but from this movie a person gets the distinct impression that Indians were always the innocent victims of the wicked whites. It was so sad to see everyone in the theater cheering as the Indians slaughtered our American soldiers in the final battle. This movie is NOT factual history.

I grew up in South Dakota and have ridden horse in the west river country. I love this part of the country. To see it on screen was great. The horse Costner rode in the movie was neat.

I really enjoyed Dances with Wolves. It really lets you see how Native Americans were treated. Also the way that people treated the wolves. It really opens your eyes to all of this. Kevin Costner was great. I would recommend it to anyone. A very well written, and directed mo

it is the sign of every great movie that it can seen repeatedly over the years but never do you tire of it ,so deeply did it ingrain a tapestry of themes and tug at your heart and mind or just hit you from behind.Such is Silence of the Lambs,Milagro Beanfield War,The Last Detail and such is the wonderful Dances With Wolves; ...sometimes i am ashamed at the sins of those who came before us.

Dances with Wolves was a cool movie. It's right up there with the American Indian movies like Smoke Signals. I could've done without the part though when Kevin Kostner was doing you know what with Mary McDonell.
