Reader comments: Sky High

It's nice to find a movie that's somewhat entertaining for the adults, as well as being very entertaining for the kids. I'm glad we were watching the DVD with the TVGuardian language filter on, however. Unlike the Deseret News review, I found the kid-based portions to be more interesting than the adult-based portions (despite the comparatively big-names, I thought the adult acting was terrible), but overall the movie held my attention until the end, which is much better than most movies that my kids like.

My wife and I took a group of kids ages 8 to 14 to Sky High. All enjoyed the movie. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and comes across as a bit of a parody on the whole "super hero" genre of films, ie: Batman, Superman, Fantastic 4, Incredibles, etc. Occasionally action takes place in the background that the kids never noticed, but which the adults found humorous. Light hearted Disney film that even the adults can enjoy. We give it 3 stars.

i thought this flick was worth the 7 bucks. the kids drug me to it, and i usually will sneak in a gameboy advance during shows like this , to make it pass quickly. i found that it was quick enough to keep my attention, and for the people from my generation that remember kurt russel as the "original" super star of the disney flicks, its funny to see him in an adult role. he plays a funny father, who is so proud of his sons accomplishments. a few great one liners and all in all, a funny show. good to see this genre that has been so serious, finally break out for some laughs. good job. good show. and my game boy batteries ran out anyway.
