This is a great movie! The acting is superb and the story is told in a funny, yet heartbraking way. Keri Russell shined in her lead role and did a fantastic job of her portrayal of a small town waitress, married to an abusive husband and dreaming of getting out on her own with her talent of making pies, only to be caught up in a surprise pregnancy. The supporting actors were great in there roles, especially Adrienne Shelly as a fellow waitress and Andy Griffith, the gruff, yet sweet old owner of the pie shop they all work at. Jeremy Sisto did a great job of the husband, being the person that we are suppose to hate in the film! The ending was very well done, and nice surprise to the rest of the film. It is sad to think that the writer/director, Adrienne Shelly, was murdered last year and that she had such great talent in film making. The only strange thing that I need to bring up is that the review said that there is some "brief drug content", that was when the doctor was talking about getting a prescription to Keri Russell's character for prenatal vitamins! Only in Utah would I hear about it being mentioned in a review! Anyways, rent this movie and you will come to love it like I did!

FIVE STARS!!! This movie is fantastic!! I did not know about the death of Adrienne Shelly until after watching it on DVD and it saddened me greatly because this movie is just so well done. She had a lot of promise as a filmmaker. My husband and I enjoyed it immensely. I urge you to see this movie for a refreshingly funny, honest movie. This is not a movie that you feel you have seen a million times before or where you feel you can predict what is going to happen next. It is heartbreaking and funny. So pop some popcorn, settle down with your special someone and watch the movie. You will not regret it!
