Reader comments: Pan's Labyrinth

Superbly acted and directed, it seems that this is not just a movie but rather a truly horrifying black hole through which one is peering for the unfolding story. You can't forget this film very soon after seeing it. True, there is violence yet, I admire the final impressive result and how it was done.

True, the visuals are creepy, cool and entertaining. True the acting and story are very good. However to me it all comes down to a question of reward versus price. To see all the amazing creatures your going to have to endure a good amount of full on violence, gore, and blood; red being a recurring theme throughout the film. For that I hope my rating is understood, its a very cool film, but having to sit through a man having his nose beat into his skull with a peice of glass makes me wish I never saw it. Reward vs Price. Much like a wonderfully juicy strawberry with a needle in the middle.
