Reader comments: Wild Hogs

I am so glad we can read what others say about movies. I go by this more than by the critics. I too found this movie a refreshing comedy - not the trash crap that Hollywood puts out continually. I am a senior and found this movie gave me a wakeup call to go after something you missed in your life - a midlife crises thing I have not had yet, being too busy doing all that has been expected of me. Since seeing the movie, I have had a light turned on for me to go out there and do something for myself that I missed out on doing.

Wild Hogs is a really great movie. Although it does show a male backside, and has too much curse words. It really is a funny and cleverly done show. Great job John Travolta and Tim Allen, and many others.

We were pretty apprehensive when we went to see Wild Hogs because of the bad reviews that were given by the critics but we were pleasantly surprised. We laughed almost non-stop throughout the movie along with everyone else in the theater. We didn't expect it to have a lot of plot and it didn't but, if you just want to be entertained and have some good laughs, you won't be disappointed. The actors all seemed to feed off of each other and they could have ad-libbed the whole movie if they wanted to. I think Jeff Vice and the other critics either have no sense of humor or they watch the movie all alone and it has a totally different effect on them than it does when you watch with hundreds of others, who are laughing throughout the movie. The critics watch so many movies that all they seem to care about is something different or unique. I can't tell you how many supposedly 4-star movies have caused us to think "What did the critics see in that stupid movie!" This one is just the opposite: the critics hate it but the movie-goers love it.

This was a breath of fresh air in a stagnant pool of so called entertainment where we as patrons go for a break from reality only to relive the latest worst new story about our great nation. Yes, the plot was hokey, and yes the story line had a few holes in it, but the movie was what it was made to be. A light hearted story about good winning, so get over it if it wasn't "believable" it was never meant to be. Learn how to relax and enjoy FUN entertainment, if you want serious art head to the opera for some culture.
