Reader comments: Doomsday

Not nearly as bad as this critic claims, it does have some clear references to Mad Max, Escape from New York, Children of Men, and Apocalypse Now. Nevertheless, the actors are strong in their roles, despite these clear ripoffs and some odd scenes.
It has a strong post apocalyptic feel. The downside is a antagonist in the movie who's accent is so slurred and jarring you have a hard time understanding him and it is quite violent (in genre with basic zombie flicks).
Another problem with this film is a lack of any sort of romantic story with our lead woman.
Still, the film is fun for what it is and the leading woman is very strong in her role, even to the point of possibly being a better fit for the role of Trinity in the Matrix Series.
