Reader comments: Enchanted April

DAVID BERSHTEIN | Nov. 30, 2007
This film is the rare remake that infinitely improves on the original, in this case the Enchanted April of (1935) with the bumbling Frank Morgan as a not very convincing Englishmen. It is worth seeing the original, which is romantic comedy light and brushes over the finer feelings with the cliches of gushing romance.

Once in awhile everything comes together right and we are previleged to witness true movie magic. "Enchanted April" is one of these gems. If perhaps one in 50 movies is really worth owning, this is one of them. Highly recommended for the romantics among us.
