I'm not familiar at all with the works of John Woo, but even if I were, that wouldn't garentee that I would like any of his previous movies or even this one. And I didn't. It was utterly stupid, and the biggest problem here of course is Van-Damme. In fact, I read once in Variety that Woo, like Rosanna Arquette in the embarrassing Nowhere to Run, didn't enjoy working with Van-Damme either. I'll admit that the stunt with Van-Damme(or, more precisely, his stunt double) standing on a moving motorcycle while shooting is a an interesting setpiece, but it dosen't belong in this movie, and anyway, Van-Damme gets in the way like a barricade the size of the Sears Tower. Also, I just couldn't stand Yancy Butler's terrible facial expressions, including the way she made bug-eyes like Jon Arbuckle of the Garfield comic strips when startled. Maybe even she just couldn't stand working with Van-Damme. It's not surprising if so.

I love this movie. Its the type of action that i like. A long hair that can kick some sence it to people. The fact that Van Damme is in this movie is great. Not like Segal, Van Damme is real. If you have not seen it it is worth the money to rent.
