the ice storm is one of the best of 1997 and should have been nominated for best picture but was left out.
i also think that joan allen, sigourney weaver, and kevin kline all should ahve been nominated as well those were very
good performances.
the movie itself was outstanding i had a wonderful plot,
the era of the 70's were captured just right.
ang lee had directed a lot of flims of the ice storm is his
best film yet.
the ice storm one of the very best films of 1997.

A stunningly good film. Joan Allen shows once again why she
is arguably the best and most interesting actresses working
today. While Ms Allen deserves kudos, this is by no means
her film. The ensemble acting was superb, with Kevin Kline
and Sigourney Weaver both giving thier best performances in
years. Young actors Tobey Maguire, Christina Ricci, and
Elijah Wood, easily hold thier own among the fine adults,
proving that they will certainly be child actors who make
that rare leap to adult stardom.
