i thought this was a really good movie

i think it is one of the most exciting and depth thrillers i?ve seen the last few years. with wonderful stars like uma thurman, andy garcia and john malkovich. it combines romantic and exciting scenes. if you didn?t see it yet, let?s have a look on it. ksa

A tense, taut thriller with a very unusual ending. If you see many police/detective/murder mysteries you will know what I mean. Very good.

One of the most underappreciated and underrated movies of the 90's. JENNIFER EIGHT takes two familiar plot elements -- a burned-out city cop escaping to rural peacefulness only to encounter conflict, and the search for a serial killer -- but writer-director Bruce Robinson developes his material extraordinarily well, playing upon our assumptions of what is likely going to happen and giving us a spin with unexpected ingenuity. The direction is intelligent and respectful, and it elicits a palpably eerie, atmospheric mood (enhanced through Conrad L. Hall's superlative camerawork).

Andy Garcia (himself underrated) is simply magnificient here, thrusting himself into his character's complex, tortured emotional turmoil, exuding rage, violence and compassion is equal (and believable) doses. This is simply a wonderful film achievement that has (rightfully) picked up a considerable following on video. It also must be said that it's far more fascinating and arresting than 1991's overrated, mechanical THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.
