Reader comments: Kindergarten Cop

AVI GREEN | Aug. 23, 1999
Sorry, but I'm one of the naysayers about this film, as even Newsweek was at the time this movie was released. I found the humor to be disgusting, including when one of the children in Arnie's class used an offending word I'd rather not mention here(hey, I probably wouldn't be allowed anyway!). Isn't it enough that the mid-90's sitcom "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" had a supposedly funny gag in which another embarrassing word was repeated ad-nauseum? Apparently not, which is why we're likely to see more movies like Kindergaten Cop in the future. And if the villain really loved his son, why was he trying to use him as a shield against Arnie's gun? Watch out.
