Olympic hopefuls skate away

Min-Jin Joo leads the pack in the women's final 1500-meter event during the short-track Olympic qualifying meet Thursday at the Delta Center. Gi-Hyun Ko of Korea took the gold. American Apolo Anton Ohno skated to victory in the 1500-meter men's race. More than 2,000 fans cheered on 170 skaters. The four-day competition determines how many athletes each country can send to the 2002 Winter Games.
