Snowboarding
WORLD CUP: American snowboarders cracked the top 10 in the season's first two World Cup parallel giant slalom races over the weekend but failed to get on the podium.
Rosey Fletcher of Girdwood, Alaska, finished sixth on Saturday and 10th on Sunday, while Lisa Kosglow of Boise was eighth on Sunday in Ischgul, Austria. Heavy snow in Kaprun, Austria, the week before forced the back-to-back weekend races.
On the men's side, Chris Klug, Aspen, Colo., managed a 10th-place finish on Saturday.
Probable Olympians Mathieu Bozzetto and Karine Ruby, both of France, won the men's and women's PGS, respectively, on Sunday. The Saturday winners were Frenchman Nicolas Huet and Doris Guenther of Austria.
