Women's hockey: Finland shuts out China

PROVO, Utah (AP) — Riikka Nieminen had three assists on Tuesday to lead Finland to a 4-0 victory over China in the Olympic women's hockey tournament.
Karoliina Rantamaki, Katja Riipi, Emma Laaksonen and Saija Sirvio scored, and Tuula Puputti stopped 12 shots for Finland.
Hong Guo made 54 saves for China. Jing Zhang caught skates with Finland's Oona Parviainen in the third period and had to be helped from the ice.
It was 0-0 after one period, then Finland scored twice in the second and twice in the third.
Finland could clinch a berth in the medal round with a victory on Thursday over Germany, which lost 10-0 to the United States. China needs to at least tie the Americans on Thursday and then beat Germany on Saturday for any chance at a medal.
