U.S. women lose second straight in curling

OGDEN Denmark scored four in the last three ends to beat the U.S. curlers 9-4 Thursday, putting the American women in danger of not qualifying for the medal round.
After starting the 10-team round-robin tournament at 2-0, the United States is 2-2 and tied for fifth. Only the top four teams advance to the semifinals Feb. 20.
"We can't afford to lose anymore," U.S. skip Kari Erickson said.
The Americans were to play Switzerland late Thursday.
In other early matches, Norway handed Germany its first loss of the tournament, 10-5, Britain defeated Russia 8-5 and Switzerland edged Japan 8-7.
Canada, which has won the last two world titles, and Switzerland remain unbeaten with 4-0 records.
