Husband's in hockey heaven, but his wife deserves a medal
By Jody Genessy Deseret News sports writer
Priscilla Bybee should probably receive the wife of the year award from the Society of Supportive Sports Spouses.
With her approval, Priscilla's husband, David Bybee, bought tickets for 21 of the men's Olympic hockey games to be played at the E Center.
It cost about $6,500 for the tickets alone. They traveled from Huntington Beach, Calif., and are staying with relatives in West Valley City. They even spent half of their Valentine's Day watching two hockey contests.
Talk about love Priscilla was still at his side smiling and wearing a USA sweater Friday night.
"It's been great so far," she said. "He's a super hockey fan."
Bybee, a regular at Los Angeles Kings games, bought his bundle of tickets when they first went on sale in December of 2000.
"I didn't even have to think about it," he said. "The Olympics are here. I had to come."
And all the better his wife let him.
