'Isolated' flu cases at Olympic Village
Olympic Village is not changing its name to Illville. And there's no sudden population drop, either.
A few "isolated" cases of influenza have been confirmed at Olympic Village. But the story's circulating that athletes are moving out to find safer lodging.
It's simply not true, said Jayne Pearcy, venue press chief for the village.
"We've seen a few isolated cases, but with 3,000 people all together, you'd expect that," she said. "It's not a flu epidemic, and people are not moving out."
She said some athletes may have changed rooms because of proximity to someone who was ill.
