Koreans seek a review in speedskating events

The Korean Olympic Committee and the Korean Skating Federation has asked the international Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to review recent referee decisions after the International Skating Union declined to do so.
The Korean delegation is unhappy about referee decisions in both the men's 1,000 meters and 1,500 meters short-track speedskating races.
Whether CAS will take up the request is not known. CAS issues written advisories when it accepts or decides a case; none has yet been issued.
"I have met with Dr. Jacques Rogge, IOC president, to explain our complaint and the reasoning behind our protest," said Un Yong Kim, president of the KOC and member of the International Olympic Committee.
"We are making a protest purely on technical grounds. We have no dispute with the IOC or the organizers of these Games. All the athletes have competed well and honorably, but the referee has failed them."
A release by the Koreans said that their "athletes look forward to celebrating the conclusion of these so-far successful Games with their peers at the closing ceremony."
