- Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 — Deadline for submission of "Parent/Student Declaration" forms, "Report of Nominees" and photographs to the Deseret Morning News by school coordinator, principal or vice principal.
- Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 — Deadline for submitting portfolios to the Deseret Morning News. Portfolios must come in together as a school and will only be accepted if delivered by school coordinator, principal or vice principal. Portfolios will not be accepted on an individual basis or by anyone other than the coordinator, principal or vice principal.
- Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 — Special Sterling Scholar section published in the Deseret Morning News.
- Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 — Semifinal judging. North
Region held at Roy High School, 2150 W 4800 South, Roy; Central
Region held at Woods Cross High School, 600 W 2200 South, Woods Cross; South
Region held at Provo High School, 1125 North University Avenue, Provo.
- Wednesday, March 5, 2008 — Final judging for all 195 finalists held at Alta High School, 11055 South 1000 East, Sandy.
- Wednesday, March 26, 2008 — 47th annual Deseret Morning News-KSL Television Sterling Scholar Awards Ceremony at Cottonwood High School, 5717 South 1300 East, Salt Lake City, 7 p.m. No tickets are required and there is seating for up to 3,000.
