Jazz players were asked what they'd really want Santa to leave under their trees this Christmas. From their answers, it appears his elves have their work cut out for them.
Raja Bell: "Anything for Christmas? Huh, that's tough. (Smiles) I'm going to go selfish on this one and say: Aston Martin Vanquish. That's it." (It's a $250,000 sports car.)
"Anything, right? A contract with the Jazz. Guaranteed."
(For how long?)
"However long they take me for."
"You know what I want for Christmas? I want at least one person ... I want at least one of my teammates to send me a 'Happy Birthday, Fes' text. Nobody never ever even send me a text." (P.S. Fes' 24th birthday is on Dec. 24.)
"If I could have anything for Christmas? I'd have my girl over to the spot — my girlfriend over at my apartment, that'd be it." (And, yes, his teammates razzed him for the oh-so-sweet thought.)
"Some underwear and a pair of socks. Keep it simple."
(Any particular brand?)
"Hanes. I'm a Hanes guy." (Hopefully, Santa Jordan's reading.)
"Nothing. Only emotions with my kids." (He then joked that Mehmet Okur wants a healthy ankle.)
"I wish I could get all my family together at one time. That'd be great for me."
"That's a tough question. Don't know. If you got anything you really wanted, it wouldn't be what it is right now. Life wouldn't be how it is. You could say peace on earth, but what would life be with that? Who knows? I don't know." (Good luck with that one, Mr. Kringle.)
"I've got everything I want. I've got everything I need. A healthy boy April 5th. How about that?" (Hopefully, Santa and the Stork successfully work that out.)
"Peace." (And, yes, he did flash a peace sign while saying that.)
"Be with my family." (Santa Sloan made that possible, giving the team the day off.)
