The Elkhorn Loop, from the Whiterocks River area, up over Pole Mountain and down to the Uinta River, is actually quite spectacular. It is a beautiful and instructive drive, and the USFS should encourage people to drive it to learn more about fire ecology.

Renewed beauty is peeking out of the burnt snags of wood and thousands of acres left barren by the Neola North fire. Tall stands of lodgepole pine were burned in the fire, but green, vibrant trees are growing just months later. (Phil Johnson)
