I was greatly saddened to hear of the death of Ed Mayne. He did a great deal for the State of Utah as a State Senator and labor leader. He is one of those people who you just always expected to be there. Its hard to imagine the world without him. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Utah has lost a caring man and a great leader.

One of Utah's Great Leaders has left a wonderful tribute too all mankind by his desire and tireless work to make sure everyone had a voice in the state. It was my pleasure to serve with the Great Senator Mayne and to learn so many of life's lessons from this Gentle Giant.
Ed was tenacious in his fight to make sure we as legislators would never forget the challenges of the "working families" of Utah. Ed never gave up the fight for justice and equality. His faith in mankind never wavered. He truly was a "man for the people." I will miss him dearly.

Senator Mayne was one of a kind. Anytime there was a community function in the Kearns area he and his family were there. Not because he was campaigning for votes, but because he really cared. He was a part of the community. He never forgot the little people even though he rose to great leadership positions. When Ed spoke, people listened!

I was honored to know him and only hope his legacy will live on. The good deeds of the Mayne family will long benefit the West side of the salt lake valley.

Ed was truly a legislator. He cared about every constituent. Most nights Ed worked late into the evening answering emails from people all over the state. He truly cared about each person. Ed fought for those who were often forgotten in the legislative process. He was a great leader, a fabulous mentor, and a friend that I will never forget. I was honored to serve with him in the Utah Senate.

How sad that our "Gentle Giant" has died. Senator Ed Mayne was a good and great man, and one who truly cared about and loved this earth and its life. He was courageous in his last battle, and in all the other battles he fought for us he exhibited care, integrity, skill and love. We were all fortunate to have had him in our lives. Rest well dear friend.
